Muay Thai - Gyaboooo!!!
GREAT its finally OVER.. seesh.. My life in the NUS library is finally DONE for the year only -unfortunately. And sadly enough after all my papers... i realised my best paper was japanese..Which kinda sucks since im its not even my engineering papers.. seesh..Anyway its all in the hands of God now.On to Muay Thai.. I really havent meet this cousin for a LONG time and hes flying off really soon to the philipines. And so we made some arrangements earlier already to meet up on tuesday after my exams. Which i nearly forgot about and went ahead and made some plans. Unfortunately i had to shelf the other plans with the guy. Sorry dude !So we went down to supanahong gym with my cousin and brother in law and sisterLocation: Golden Mile Complex.Description of place: Smells like thailand streets. Esp the carpark. It reeks of erm...... urea?Food: Can be pretty nicePeople: Some are very nice as well.I went there and figured that i could release off all the stress from exams since they ended. After about two hours of training there i was pretty much dead beat i didnt even feel like eating anything. The trainers just made us run and skip and then we went into some light warm up boxing and kicking, Followed by bag work - punching bags.3 min rounds and 2 mins rest. This crazy thing went on for like at least 8 plus rounds? In the meantime, the trainers would pull us out one by one and teach us personally for about two rounds till everyone one went once with them.....Then he intorduced MORE bag work and push-ups etc etc... Gosh...Bascially i was so pooped i thought i was gonna collapse any moment..Im so outta shape, even the obese company in BMT would be laughing at me if they saw me.Time to really get running again man..Anyway after that i had an nice dinner downstairs. I had thai steamboat BBQ..Unfortunately i dont have a picture cause by that time i was really hungry and when we thought of taking a photo we had pretty much empty plates left to take a picture of .. hahaBut heres a picture from someone else.. Its not exactly the same but its pretty similar. The meat cooks in the middle while theres soup at the sides in the ring. In the picture here, the whole thing is prolly electric. BUT at golden mile, it was CHARCOAL.. which i liked cause it gave it a nice smoky flavour.. yum yum ... After hanging out for quite a bit, I finally got home pretty late and started watching..... NODAMEHighly recommended dorama to watch !Granted the conducting wasnt always very real, BUT it was really funny!I especially loved it when they go GYABOO!!! - when they get punchedOh man ... that is ONE crazy show... haha... And it did really bring back a LOT of memories for me as i watched it.I really miss good'ol band days. I really loved percussion. The Timpanis The Drums The Players The MusicBasically everything.Especially love it when you feel everyone moving and enjoying the music together.Lol I think sometimes i must have felt like nodame as well though.Wanting to play it my way, not exactly as the score detailed it to be. This ALWAYS resulted in the conductor looking up at me. Haha.. and they will always give me that "What in the world are you PLAYING?!?!" look .. haha, esp in JC man.. The conductress would stop and spend the next five mins correcting me.. hahaFairfield conductress was marginally nicer in that i actually would be scolded together with the rest of the section. hahaReally the crazy times we had in band...Anyway im uber sleepy now but i think ill leave with a line from the song "nice to know you""Ive never felt the wayI feel today For so long its hard for me to specify" Right.. Oyasumi!
